Running off to my gig now, but so excited just wanted to post this.
Hospice nurse came today for initial evaluation, and I am feeling one thousand percent relief! Quality help is on the way, two to three times a week for a while!
Mom is much more like her pre-haloperidol over-medicated self today!
Phew.

Yes, Kate, I feel great about this too. We now have lots of chances to ask questions, get advice, etc., at least as long as it lasts which would be a minimum of 10 to 12 weeks. The nurse said when the service ends depends on the Mom, how she responds.
I heated up Crick's nice pasta dish for her but she only ate about five or six forkfuls. Then she wanted to go to bed. This was at 5:30pm! Well, I get her to bed about 6pm then she wanted to get up again. She was OK in her chair, took a little water, while I watched a debate on C-Span2, and seemed to be listening but mostly with her eyes closed. Finally got her to bed about 8:10pm and I managed to get her on her left side which she, and I too, greatly appreciated. That right side of hers clearly needs attention.
In Mom's defense, I'd probably be listening to C-span2 with my eyes closed, too. Ha ha.
Thanks for the update on the night.
Yes, it was probably borin for her but probably anything else might have been just as borin, maybe not.
Anyway, the left side didn't work either so around 10pm (can't remember exactly when) I had to move her again, back on her back again. This did seem to work but about 7am she wanted to get up, go to the bathroom and stay up. Since 7am is when I too got up I lost my "free time". Well, she drank water, her cranberry juice and took her two pills EXCEPT she chewed her Namenda pill and then tried to hand it to me. I got most but not all of it back into her mouth.
I tried a fried egg on her but she ate only about three or four pieces. I think she's still have trouble swallowing. Finally I gave her a glass of Ensure and she swallowed that right down. She then sat there for a bit watching the Early Show but cried to go back to bed (about 8:45am). So now she's in bed again (9:45am).
I may call our new RN.
Hm. Thanks for the update. I'll be over within the hour. Maybe she's just pooped from her busy weekend.
